These past two weeks have been intense. And it’s not over yet.
We went on a really nice family vacation and I can’t wait to share pictures and stories about it. But as soon as I returned to work, a co-worker went out for surgery and I’ve been picking up full-time shifts to cover the holes in staffing. It’s been exhausting and I haven’t had time to upload all my pictures.
Besides being tired from all the extra shifts, I have felt really bad for the kids. They are definitely not used to me working so many hours. Even my least snuggly one has been all about the cuddles and the baby cries when I leave.
There’s one more week of this, starting tomorrow. Next week we can finally return to our normal. There will be time for babies and writing and sleep. Can’t wait.
Last Thursday, for #tbt, my cousin posted this picture. Why am I stealing it this week? Because it lead to the creation of an amazing phrase. Thanks CJ!
When my cousin originally posted this photo, she had tagged herself (the one with the crazy hair) and my sister. I also recognized the hand as my sister and thought it hilarious my cousin could tell who it was just by the bronzed arm holding her face. I commented to that point and everyone in my family got a good laugh over how we all recognized my sister. Maybe it was because we have all know her for so long, or maybe because she is the only one of us who ever gets so tan.
Anyway, since I found this whole situation to be funny, I brought it up to CJ. Then he admitted to me that he too had known the hand belonged to my sister before realizing she had been tagged in the photo. When I questioned how he recognized her, he told me it was because my sister had “bitch wrist.”
I could not help myself. I immediately got my sister on the phone to inform her about her bitch wrist. She was laughing when she asked CJ to explain what he meant. His explanation – “Well, you know. A wrist with attitude.”
My sister and I both laughed hysterically about the fact that she apparently exudes so much attitude it can even be noticed in pictures of her wrist. She had better be keeping that “bitch wrist” in control.
Today I started email addresses for MJ and Q. I read that it is a great way to share moments and media with your children as you give them the password once they are older.
As so much of what we do today is digital and easy, we cannot possibly print out all the pictures we take. My parents house was full of photo albums, but most of my pictures are lost in an electronic wasteland. If I send the picture to the kids while it is fresh in my head, I will not forget about its existence and be able to share these wonderful things with MJ and Q. They are supposed to have lots of pictures of their childhood; and embarrassing ones too! 🙂
I hope they appreciate everything I will be putting in to this project. I am pretty excited about it.
MJ begins his gymnastics classes again tonight. I think I may be more excited than he is. Over the break, I feel he has gotten so much bigger that I cannot wait to see what he accomplishes tonight. I hope to have lots of pictures. 🙂
Over the past few weeks, writing and blogging have taken a backseat to adjusting to having Q home. For the next few weeks, writing and blogging will have to remain on the back burner as my home will be getting invaded – and I mean that the most loving way possible. CJ’s parents will be coming on Thursday and staying until Monday and then my parents will be coming that Thursday and staying until the following Monday. I am glad they want to come see the baby, but we will sure be exhausted after everyone leaves since they decided to visit so close together.
This is probably one of the most boring blogs ever. I really opened up WordPress with the intention of letting off some steam over an issue that I am very upset about, but after I logged on, I guess you could say I lost my nerve. The issue is unbelievably upsetting and I am not sure what I should do about it. If it does not get remedied this afternoon, I do not know what I will do.
My little boy sure does love to play outside! With the weather here in NY finally starting to get nice, MJ and I will go for walks or to the park in the morning before I head to work. Even if we just hang out in our own backyard he is a happy camper. In fact, he likes it outside so much that when I start to pick up his toys to go in the house for lunch or nap, he starts to cry. He is definitely his father’s son. I think CJ would be content to stay outside all day every day if he could.
MJ at the park. He looks so little.
Playing at his cousin’s house.
This little boy has also discovered that he can climb. Anything that can make him taller, he attempts to climb. Sofas and other such things, I do not mind him climbing; by the time he gets up on them, he is tired and just sits and rests. It is the other things I mind. He has discovered that he can push the coffee table in the toy room up to the window, climb on top of it, and stare out at the neighbors. He thinks it is great. The first time I saw him on top of the table, I almost had a heart attack. It seems like this boy has no self-preservation. He will, without a doubt, grow to be some crazy daredevil who jumps out of perfectly good airplanes or something along those lines. These will just be stories he can never share with Mommy. 🙂
Today marks my first day as a published writer on the Yahoo Contributor Network. I know it is not a lot; CJ tells me all the time that anyone can publish stuff on there, but it is a step in the right direction for me. Anything that furthers my writing career is okay in my book. It is not a very big article, there was only a 400 word limit after all, but I am proud of it anyway.
There are still far too many boxes to be unpacked and MJ is having a field day trying to get into every single one. It is really hard to unpack around children; I am glad we only have one at the moment 🙂
CJ tried with all his might to get the wireless working so I could be up and running on here, but for all his efforts, he just could not seem to make it work. He is normally such an IT wizard that we were both shocked he could not make it work. Surprisingly enough, I am the one who got it to work although if you asked me I could not tell you how I did it.
MJ has been taking four or five steps only for the most part, but I just saw him walk across an entire room! He is only 10 months old!! Where did the time go? It really needs to slow down and it can happen at any time now.
Nap time for the little guy now, so time to get some unpacking done. All but one room that we wanted painted is done so no more pink! Will post a few pictures once there are less boxes to mar the view.
Quickly I am dropping the ball on my promise of at least five posts per week. It is an awful hard promise to maintain considering there is no internet in the new house yet. It is supposed to be installed this weekend – I am so excited! Is it sad though that internet access has become such a necessity? CJ is feeling the loss of not being able to use his Netflix account and I did not realize just how much I liked writing on here everyday until I was not able to.
It has actually been an okay thing that I have not been able to write because MJ has been sick and considering it is the first time he has really been sick, he needed more than normal attention. He pulled through like a champ though. He is such an amazing little boy.
Hopefully, I will be able to return to regular blogging next week. I look forward to sharing some of the “face-lift” pictures of the house.
